Y-TRAILMATES

The Y-Trailmates continues the father/child program started in Y-Guides/Princesses. However the program is different in two respects.

First, events and activities are more challenging. Examples include the Trailmates Canoe trip on the Colorado River and our Camp Surf weekend in San Diego where Trailblazer dads and kids can, if they wish, learn how to surf.

The second difference between Trailmates and Guides/Princesses is that club members begin to take on a greater degree of responsibility for leading their own group. While this aspect varies from club to club the intent is to provide an opportunity for Trailblazer members to learn to manage their own small group experience.

A member of the Trail Council will be contacting you in the near future to answer your questions and talk to you about Trailblazers, the next step in YMCA parent/child programs.
